July has been another hot month and another busy few weeks in the shop. Summer bedding is well and truly over now and we have been selling lots of items for garden projects. Here is what has been going on in the shop in July:

New range of swift professional paint brushes
We have taken on a new range of professional brushes but at an affordable price. So give your decorating a professional finish but without the cost and grab some of these brushes. Available in 12 - 75mm with multi packs available as well.

We had a bit of a different request earlier this month from 43rd Scouts group. Every year they have a litter pick at Western Park and then a huge water fight to cool off. Only problem was this year they were struggling for a van to transport the water to the water fight! They reached out and Steve & Louise were happy to help take the van over and transport the water over to help the kids enjoy their water fight. We love being part of our local community and helping where we can especially having been part of the scouts ourselves it's nice to give back.

Here is another set of wooden stocks which Sian recently ordered. This set was picked up and making its way back to Wrexham with Sian and will be hired out for events such as weddings. I'm sure a few best men will be finding their way into these after some dodgy speeches!

Calor gas volatility surcharge update
Calor gas introduced a volatility charge across all bottles on the 18th May 2026 due to disruptions around supply because of the American / Iran war. We made the decision as a business to absorb this cost in the hope this would be a temporary measure and not pass this onto our customers. Unfortunately 2 months later this cost is still in place with no sign of being removed anytime soon. Therefore we have made the difficult decision to increase the prices.
We haven't increased our prices on Calor gas since April 2024 as we know how much prices have increased over the past few years.
We still offer FREE local delivery on all bottles priced over £35 which is a fantastic service we know many of you use.
We also pride ourselves and work hard to have a well stocked supply despite challenges behind the scenes.
You can also use discount code "CALORDISCOUNT" on our website to save 10% on any other purchase with a calor gas refill.
If and when the surcharge is lifted we will adjust our prices accordingly.
