September has been a cracking month full of celebration as we celebrated our 98th birthday. We also partnered up with Leicester Social Media Star John Ghent which has brought a lot of fun to the shop. Here is what has been going on this month:

September 1st saw us celebrate our 98th Birthday
The 1st of the month saw us celebrate our 98th birthday which was a great occassion. We had cakes supplied by Oh So Bakery and it was great to see such a buzz at the shop. Its also a great opportunity to thank you all for your support to get us here and we can't wait to continue this journey with you! We finished the day off with a team meal at Lara's in Anstey which was superb.

This month we partnered with Social media legend John Ghent. John makes some cracking content and the opportunity of working with him for the month came up and it was perfect timing. He's made some great videos for the shop and its been brilliant to hear so many of you enjoy them. See below on the links to have a look at what he's made.

Happy to help our customers
One of our customers popped in on our birthday for a cake and bought some fence paint and pansies. She lived just down the road from the shop and had walked down and would struggle to get home with these items. We were more than happy to give her a lift home and help out. We appreciate all of your support so are happy to help where we can. She even said "You wouldn't get that at B & Q, would you"!
Local businesses are a huge part of a community and we are proud to be part of ours.
Thanks to Bob for bringing in your stilts
Bob popped in recently with a set of stilts that my Grandad Ron made for his daughters in 1976 some 50 years ago. They are still going strong today and it was so nice to hear how they had been used by his daughters and grandchildren for hours of entertainment over the years. We make good quality items to last in our workshop and have done for generations. We love to hear your stories so let us know how we have helped you over the years.
We are proud to be supporting young people with work experience
We are extremely proud to have partnered with Leicestershire Education Business Centre to provide work experience placements for young people at our shop. We think its so important for young people to get hands on work experience to take forward with them. So now the new academic year has begun you will continue to see keen young people at our shop so have a chat and see how they are getting on.

Steve & Louise went on a well deserved break for the week. Its been a very busy summer so they deserve a break to kick back and relax. So Adam & Liv were in charge for the week so it was a great time to have a move around whilst the boss was away!
The revival of the Offcut box
We have a new offcut box on the shop floor ideal for you bargain hunters out there. Pop in and have a rummage and pick up some offcuts. Each piece is just £1 and we will keep topping up the box daily. This is something that we used to have when I was a lad that my grandad topped up so its nice to see it back in place.
We now have over 6000 products on our website
We are so proud to now have over 6000 products on our website. Our website was setup in 2020 and has gone from strength to strength and is solely managed by us. That means we have added every product and all the information ourselves. Its so nice to hear and see how many of you that are using it so thank you for your support.
