Nettlefolds & Vintage Screws

As a long running family business we are fortunate to have a wide range of stock with some items which we have sold to our customers for decades. An example of this stock that we still have available are Nettlefolds & Vintage Screws.

There are a number of different types of vintage screws which we have put this guide together to help you see the differences so you get the right ones for your project, they are:

GKN Nettlefolds Screws

GKN Nettlefolds were a Birmingham based manufacturer of top quality fasteners and screws but unfortunately stopped manufacturing these in the 1980s. British wood screws are often described by joiners, cabinets makers and restorers alike as being superior in quality & finish. Our vintage screws are all made in Great Britain so you can be sure that the quality is superb. We have many boxes of different shapes and sizes all brand new and unused but the packaging may have worn a little over the years. The different types we have are as follows:

Slotted Steel Countersunk (CSK) Screws

These screws are self coloured which makes them darker than the zinc plated modern day screws. They are slotted as all screws were before phillips & pozidrive screws were invented. They are ideal for restoration projects and more. All sizes are in imperial starting from 1 gauge upto 14 and lengths starting from 1/4in to 3in.
